Why do people think Christians are so weak and stupid?

There are many brilliant people I know that are Christians/believe in God; so why do atheists and agnostics personally attack someones intellectual capacity when they believe something different? Is there no other argument than to say someone needs a "crutch" or lacks the mental ability to reason correctly? I am a Christian and do not consider myself a stupid person. I am able to evaluate opinions and facts; why is your opinion without REAL tangible, scientific proof any more valid than my opinion without REAL, tangible, scientific proof?

If you really think about it, today's divas aren't that different from the divas from the past. Before we had talented women like Lita, Trish, Victoria, etc but today we DO have talent still. We have Natalya, Beth, Melina and such. Then in the best we had eye candy like Torrie Wilson and Candice Michelle. They couldn't really wrestle but they were 'hot'. Okay, so i am 17 years old, i am 5'7" and i weight between 118-122 i know that's really not heavy but i have lots of fat around my thighs, everything else is fine but my thighs are really bothering me. Walking Boot for Achilles tendon?

Would i get a walking boot for an Achilles tendon strain? I went to the doctor(sports medicine doctor) about my ankle and he said that i sprained it but i later found out that i had an Achilles tendon strain from my physical therapist when he did a physical examination. I did physical therapy (PT) for 6 weeks and it didn't help and the doctor said that i should be exercising it so i went on a trip where in total i walked 7.5 miles over 4 days. Now my Achilles REALLY hurts. I can barely walk and it even hurts while i'm sitting down. On ehow.com it said that if i had moderate pain i should use crutches for at least 72 hours... So what should i do for it because the r.i.c.e method isn't helping neither is PT.Only people who know what they're talking about answer. please and thank you.

I broke my ankle and had an operation to put pins in. I have had my cast removed today and I was wondering how long it'll take for the swelling to go down because I can't get my shoe on. Also, how long will it take for me to atleast be able to walk again? I have crutches. Thanks.

Should i continue to play on my sprained ankle?

I am 15 years old and well i sprained my ankle back on may 5 while playing basketball. At first it hurt so much that could not even walk on it and it was swelled up alot. I went to the doctor that night and they said that the ligaments were really stressed and it was a slight sprain. they doc sent me home with some pain meds and some pills for swelling and some crutches. I used the crutches and meds for about a week then stopped while still applying ice and elevation It was painless to walk after about two weeks but there was still some swelling. I began playing on it lightly two weeks after the sprain and it would hurt the next morning. So i decided to stay off it for about 3 weeks applying ice and elevation every so often. 5 weeks after the sprain i still play on it very lightly maybe just shooting around and playing halfcourt games. There is no pain and i can jump on it but no as high as i could before the sprain. It has been about 8 weeks since i sprained it but there is still some swelling. What should i do? thanks in advance and sorry the description was so long.

Medical treatment for broken/sprained ankle?

I was playing football with my friends at the park and fell in a hole and ended up with a grade 3 sprained ankle. They will have you in a splint for a week. You will have to use crutches. After a week in the splint, they will have you in a walking cast for 3 weeks. Then, you will use a simple brace or wrap for about a week. You total recovery time will be about 6 weeks. So, a month and a half. The last week will be needed for your ankle to rest. So, you will be taking about a month and a half from volleyball to recover. Hope I helped. :)

Stepped on surgery foot after OATS surgery? Very worried.?

Tomorrow will be my 2nd week after OATS surgery. As I was going on my crutches, I hit a little snag and could only catch myself by putting my surgery leg down. After meniscal surgery, how long will it be until I can squat?

I had my meniscus repaired back in January, and my surgery was more "heavy duty" than some because I'm still very young and I play sports. I had three sutures put in and was off of crutches after 6 weeks. Shortly after, softball season started and I couldn't play my main position, catcher, because I couldn't squat. It's now been 6 months and I still can't completely squat without feeling some tension on the front inside of my knee. My knee feels completely fine other than that. I've been pretty active and I'm just wondering if this is normal for a surgery like mine and if so how long will it be before I can squat again?

When i first injured it i was on crutches for about 3 weeks and was doing PT for 2 of these 3 weeks. My injury happened 2.5 months ago. It hurts when i point my foot and when i bring my foot towards me. One please don't say i'm acting like a baby cause the 1-10 thing is just currently sometimes it hurts a lot worse. Secondly going back on crutches isn't an option. And three the only 2 choices my mom is really letting me have is going to another doctor or keep doing PT which isn't helping. I've been paralyzed from below my knees down for 9 years. I've dated but very very little. I don't understand why some guys are shallow about dating a girl who is paralyzed. I use a wheelchair at home and a crutch in public. I can pretty much do everything for myself. People with disabilitys are usually very capable independent people. But regardless, its almost as if people dehumanize them. We want companionship and love too and many of us are able to have normal physical relationships. HI im 16 years old, My girlfriend is 17, and we think that she might be pregnant. Injured Knee seems to not be healed?

Ok so i threw my knee out of joint almost 3 months ago now. Went to the hospital, got a brace did the crutch thing. Now I started to try to excercise again. Started out slow, walking on a treadmill, then went to a low impact elliptical with as little resistance as possible and worked my way up slowly. Well the other day I had worked myself up to 15 (i can do more but didn't want to push the knee). Anyway this was almost a full week ago and I'm still having issues. The knee feels like it wants to pop out of place everytime i walk with out wrapping it, it locks up, I have not been doing excersice with my legs so help the pain stop, i've been icing it, and trying to get down on the floor is almost impossible. I'm thinking i should probably see a doctor but I'm afraid I'm going to be told i need surgery or something. Does anyone have any suggestions to stabalize my knee so it stops hurting or something I can do to strengthen the joint?

Today i torn my ligaments in my ankle, now it all swollen, i went to a and e and saw a doctor, she gave me x rays told me that no bones were broken and sent me home with a leaflet and told me to put ice on it, but if a ligament was torn, aren't the suppose to bandage it or at least give me crutches for support? anyway just wondering cause walking for me is seriously hard for me. thanks =)

Hi I’m 16 years old, My girlfriend is 17, and we think that she might be pregnant. Hi. Thank you to anybody that can help me with this. History: About 8 years ago when I was at a fair in Arlington, TX my husband, myself & my two adorable boys had a charcoal sketch done for us free of charge. It is known as a "Butt Sketch", meaning that it is sketched from the backside as opposed to the front side. Details: It's pretty large in size (approx. 18 x 24). Since it was done, I've just had it "preserved" in between 2 pieces of cardboard (collapsed moving box) & taped. The sketch itself is starting to smear & the paper (sketch paper, I assume) is starting to curl so I most definitely don't want to totally lose it. The Point: I can't afford to have it professionally "fixed". How do I "fix" it myself within a budget that works? Matte it, etc. Any help would be MOST appreciated!!!

What are some good books to read?

I've enjoyed the Cirque Du Freak books. It has 12 books total. But what you mentioned it probably isnt your kind of genre. Its a action/thriller. My doctor checked out my xrays and said it was a severe sprain but thought since I'm walking on it that it's improving. I rolled it on the 5th of June, today's the 16th. It was my first time being at the doctors so I was kind of freaked out lol so I didn't tell him that it actually hurts MORE now. I haven't had swelling at all since I rolled it, probably because I walked it off and have been icing it which hasn't helped either. Why do conservative bloggers ALWAYS assume that I'm a liberal?

Because most Americans have no idea what a libertarian really is. They think political ideology has to be divided into one of two camps. Conservatives brand you as a liberal because you probably hold liberal views towards social issues like homosexuality and religion. Liberals brand you as a conservative because you most likely hold conservative (or classically liberal) views towards economics. It's just something you're going to have to get used to. I cant say that from personal experience since I tend to regard myself as a social democrat but I can understand the frustration you might feel from being lumped into one of two categories, neither of which you completely identify with. My father for example displays all the attitudes of political libertarianism despite the fact that he is not willing to recognize it. He identifies himself as a republican despite the fact that he disagrees with the republicans on most social policies. He even acts insulted when I insinuate that he is in fact a libertarian. Growth Plate Fracture cast or splint?

I was hiking on wednesday and I tripped on a rock a hurt my ankle. I went to the hospital and they took x-rays and such. It wasn't broken per-se but the P.A. at the express clinic in the er said because of where it was tender, bruised and swollen that I may have a growth plate fracture. She refered me to an orthopedist. In the meanwhile i was given a posterior splint and crutches. I go to the orthopedist on monday afternoon. Do you think he will put me in a cast? or will I stay in a splint?

Your hip joint is very precious, you need to take care of it. I would go to your doctor and find out what he thinks is the best alternative for you. Two years ago, I fell forwards and landed on both of my knees, I hurt my hip and ignored it. A year ago, I couldn't get up to save my life. You can severly damage your hip for life if you put too much pressure when you shouldn't. Diseases such as cocyndia and complex regional pain syndrome (I now have.) can both be caused by a fall. Get yourself checked out as soon as possible. Even if it doesn't seem like that bad of a problem, it can be in the long run.

What did I do to my knee?

Last Sunday, June 5th, I was playing soccer and collided with one of my friends. His knee banged just above my knee, and it hurt pretty bad. He was fine, but I had to stop playing. I sat out for about an hour and iced my knee on an off. After this I was fooling around after and got tripped and as I fell, I hyper-extended my knee, and that hurt pretty bad. After that I stopped playing for good. I know I was very stupid for doing this. I got x-rays and they said I had a really bad muscle contusion. Later, on June 11, I went to the ER, and they took x-rays and saw nothing wrong. They also drained the fluid from my knee which hurt pretty badly lol. Now I'm on crutches, and my knee has been swollen since the accident. The orthopedic at the ER said to see my orthopedic and I scheduled an appointment for tomorrow. He said he thinks I may have torn something but he isn't positive. I'm guessing I'm going to get an MRI tomorrow.. but does anyone know what the worst/best case scenario is for me?? Thanks!! :)

What benefits does a car get from a semi-automatic transmision?

I have a semi-auto and MPGs are pretty much the same. Not the same as manual because there is no clutch pedal and the transmission lever you just switch - or +. It's ok but I just stay in automatic. Once in a while switch to manual for fun. Well, I also heard that in real icy conditions you can also use it to downshift so the engine slows you down if going downhill to use along with brakes to avoid slippage, but double check that with a dealer, I haven't tried it.

What food should I eat during the day before a training session?

I'm just starting pre-season training for rugby, and wanted some opinion on what I should be eating during the day to have the most energy when training starts at 7pm. As I have said, my goal is to be in the best position when training starts, and although I work, I can pretty much eat at any time during the day, so that isn't a barrier. I'm not looking to bulk up or anything like that. I'm 28, around 90kgs (quite well built though, as opposed to fat). You may want to eat oats instead, top it with honey and fresh fruits. East more veges, which ever ones you like! Exercise or burn off more calories, than you are eating and you will lose weight slowly. Even if you are not an energetic person, maybe you just want to walk, have a look at your neighbourhood, what's round the corner, find some excuse to go out and walk. Wear a good pair of walking shoes, if you don't have one, invest in one, it helps you walk that little further. Broken pinky toe - worried?

I'm pretty sure I broke my pinky toe and maybe the toe next to it when I hit it on the baseboards the night before last. It hurt so bad I fell to the floor and almost passed out (it was much worse than when I broke my ankle a couple of years ago) and became swollen and hurts when touched, I've been walking with crutches using my heel occasionally. I figured I didn't need to see a doctor because everything on the Internet said it wasn't neccessary. I have this tingling/ticklish feeling that forms around my left nipple, my left underarm, and it radiates to my neck. At first I thought it was acid reflux but now I'm not too certain. I think it might be a pinched nerve because the funny feeling is relieved when I sit slouching, as oppose to sitting up straight. Why does society not like dark skin?

Ok so my skin is a dark brown and has a reddish hue...but it seems like all of my friends talk about it ALL OF THE TIME...my sibling even mention it. Ghost pains from an ankle sprain?

In december i sprained my ankle pretty badly and i went to the doctors and they gave me crutches and an air cast and over a few weeks it healed. walking, running, and excercising had not given me any more problems with my ankle afterwards, but a few days ago i went to my physical and the pt was moving my foot around. ever since the physical my ankle has been hurting. after having a sprained ankle is it common to get ghost pains? and if so how long do the pains usually last? are there any excercises i can do to make the pain go away?

I am in love with a girl since 2008 and we met frequently and she is one of my close relative. She love me madly and in return I love her with all my heart. I am 37 weeks as of yesterday and my dr is really pushing an elective induction after 39 weeks. I am not completely opposed, I just have heard horror stories. I heard of long, hard labors when medically induced. Did you get induced? When? How was your labor? My first daughter was born on her due date and I had her within 5 hrs of reaching the hospital, 15 min of pushing...easy labor. Any thoughts?

I mean Canadians riot over a hockey game. What is it that keeps us from rioting in the way we used to or even having massive protests. There isn't a shortage of problems and it isn't like Americans as a whole are completely opposed to violence. On TV recently, she was asked about this and said it was a "one-time payment that went for employee training", I believe. BUT, that was not true. In addition to Medicaid, they also received a grant for the clinic that went for employee training. The Medicaid funds were outside the grant. The Medicaid agency said the check from them went "directly to the clinic." They have received Medicaid funds for 6 years starting withh 2005. And guess where the highest fraud in Medicaid originates? With clinics like Bachmann and Associates because they are the hardest to police. You just don't know what they do wit the money! No accusations have been made, but there likely will be more attention and questions on this situation now that Bachmann is a presidential candidate. Interesting, you think? How to score easier in NHL 11?

In NHL 11, every time I play someone, whether its the computer or Xbox LIVE, every time the opposing team approaches my goal to score, there is 3 or 4 players approaching the goal and with that, are able to pass to each other and score easily. When I intercept a pass or get the puck, I approach the goal, but it's only me, and my teammates are slowly skating behind, not being able to pass to. This makes it hard to score. Is there any way to make my teammates follow me, or is it something I'm doing wrong? Help!

And immobilization is literally impossible to make an injury like that any worse, in fact it actually helps. Another important thing to do is to get a lot of rest.

When I was in high school, I grew up as the scrawny, shy outcast. BROKEN FOOT QUESTION!?

On April 19th, 2011, I was skateboarding with my friends and I fell and hurt my foot. I got up and called my dad to go home and didnt think anything of it. It hurt like a ***** to walk on, so I restorted to hopping around. I thought it was a sprain or something. One day goes by, no difference. Another day goes by, feels the same. I decide to get xrays. Turns out I have a fracture in my 4th metatarsal bone in my right foot. So I go to the hospital and they give me more xrays, some crutches and a boot to walk with. They said once im able to walk, start using the boot and walk with the heel. So a day goes buy on crutches and it was ******* annoying. Another day I kinda just sat around my house did nothing. About 1 week after I broke my foot, I was able to walk with the boot thing they gave me. I was a little bit slow, but it was still walking, and I didn't feel much pain. A month goes by of walking with the boot, and at that point I feel like I didnt need it anymore. Keep in mind i broke the metatarsal about 3/4ths of the way down from my 4th toe. My doctor gives me this thing called an Exogen Bone Healing System and I put it on for 20 minutes a day and it apparently gets the blood flowing faster and sends **** to the fracture site and helps it heal. So I go to the doctor around the beginning of june and theres barely any fracture left in my foot, and the bone was covered with white fuzzy stuff and it was apparently bone cells healing the bone to make it stronger. So that was around June 2nd. My doctor tells me to not wear to boot anymore and return to regular walking and everything. I was reading up on fractures and see that they take around 6 weeks to heal. Its been about 7 weeks and it is not 100%. My question is : Although the spot of my foot where I broke my bone is a little off center from the middle of my foot, it does not hurt in that spot at all, and the only time my foot hurts is if i turn it on its side and put pressure. It seems like the top right side under my pinky toe is the only thing that hurts. I just found this wierd considering my foot was broken in the middle of the foot pretty much. Can anyone explain this to me? And also do you guys think my foot will be healed before the 4th of july? Thank you!!!!!

Walking Boot for Achilles tendon?

When I was playing soccer over the weekend, someone tackled me like in football and I was totally unprepared, my foot went the wrong way and now my Achilles tendon hurts like nothing I've ever experienced, I don't think I have to go the doctor because I'm kind of a tough guy. So just get plenty of sleep and don't try to move your foot or any muscle around it. The body heals the most when it's not doing anything. Just move it enough so you don't lose muscle but not enough to make it hurt for 10 more minutes just move it every few minutes.

If I had a torn ACL/MCL would it hurt?

I dislocated my knee last week, went to the ER, had it popped back in. I had an MRI yesterday and find out the verdict tomorrow. In the meantime I've been on crutches with an immobilizer on my knee so I haven't bent my leg or put any pressure on it for a week. It only hurts if i sit in a chair for a long period of time, but otherwise hasn't really been bothering me. If I had an injury that would require surgery, would it be hurting me or is it normal to feel minimal pain afterwards?

Question about robin behavior?

We have robins who have built a nest on the crutch of a roof drain under the overhang. There are currently three baby robins we can watch being fed. The nest is our rear door and if we open the door and come out, the adult robin (mom or dad) will fly from the nest and give an alarm sound (peek calls). I've noticed that the male will do this from nearby, keeping watch on us. But if the female is near as well, she seems to chase after the male, flying to wherever he is perched and nudging him, as birds do on power lines. She will keep moving him along whenever he perches. Anyone know why?

Sugar is sugar. Filling up on fruit is a terrible idea if you are on a diet. Whilst it is naturally occurring sugar and full of vitamins, it will be processed in the same way. Sugar of all kinds needs to be avoided if you are on a diet. If you hate veg then snack on bits of chicken or fat free sugar free Greek yoghurt which is also high in protein.

Pre-deployment training injury?

I was in basic the first time in 2009. I had gotten injured in my 7th week. I had stress fractures in my pelvic bone. I was discharged. I came back in to the national guard with a waiver and went back to basic a year later. I also had issues when I was in basic that time, with my feet and hips was on profile and everything. I graduated! My unit just recently went on pre-deployment training for almost three weeks. I got injured there again. The doctor on base rulled it as a pull. I was sent home early was on crutches. I was told now that my unit needs a sworn statement from me and two other soldiers I was with about what had happen. I am also going to the doctors this week to get looked at.

Armpit bruises from crutches?

If there is no pain in your arm pits then it is more likely that you have built up a callous there. The skin has been rubbed and so it responds by getting thicker and rougher. The discoloration is just a side affect of your skin getting thicker there, so it can stand up to the repeated use of the crutches. It is a natural side effect and should go away a while after you stop using the crutches. It might take some time and it might not fully go away, but it is a side affect of the skin being abused by the crutches.

What should my next step be to recovery of sprained ankle?

About a week & a half ago I sprained my ankle during a hike. I had x-rays done & was told I only had a mild/moderate sprain, no fracture. I've been following the RICE method from day 1 & even started walking with & without my crutches while wearing my aircast. My ankle is slightly swollen & red, but overall the swelling has gone down dramatically. I asked my doctor what my next step should be, such as ankle exercises or stretches, but she said I should just continue walking. Should I be starting stretches, since my ankle seems to be feeling a little stiff? When is it okay to remove the aircast & start walking without it? Could I wear an ACE bandage with shoes to help strengthen & get around? Thank you in advance!

Why does my foot hurt when I take my aircast walking boot off to rest or shower?

I have a stress fracture in my 5th metatarsal. I am wearing a walking boot most of the time without using any crutches (dr. did not say I needed them).I take the boot off to sleep, shower, and to drive. Walking Boot for Achilles tendon?

From your wording I'm sure I'm much older than you but I have been in an "e" boot for 12 months out of the last 23 months. I have done the R.I.C.E. thing and pt neither of which helped me either. I think the next step I will take is accupuncture. My doctor just keeps telling me it takes time, but never how much time. I really don't see any improvement to this point, I still have swelling and severe pain. It feels like I have a rock taped to the bottom of my heel and it also feels like the skin over the back of my heel has been peeled away and I'm putting a shoe over an open sore. I have had x-ray and MRI and the doctor tells me it is nothing more than Achilles Tendonitis. I really don't have an answer for you but I do understand the pain and the frustration. And I will tell you that the "e" boot has helped me to get around better, but it's tireing and can cause some of it's own issues, namely muscle cramps and if you don't have the same height on the other foot it will also cause back pain and your other foot will hurt because you are stepping down on it so hard from being off balance. I hope you find an answer and get better soon.

I've gained muscle, but haven't gained any weight?

I've been doing a consistent workout routine everyday of push-ups, crutches, dumbbells, etc. for the past two months because I was pretty scrawny and wanted to gain some muscle. What benefits does a car get from a semi-automatic transmision?

I have a semi-auto and MPGs are pretty much the same. Not the same as manual because there is no clutch pedal and the transmission lever you just switch - or +. It's ok but I just stay in automatic. Once in a while switch to manual for fun. Well, I also heard that in real icy conditions you can also use it to downshift so the engine slows you down if going downhill to use along with brakes to avoid slippage, but double check that with a dealer, I haven't tried it.

I am suddenly having severe pain 6 weeks after spraining my ankle?

At the time of the sprain, I had severe pain with minimal swelling. Was placed on crutches until I could bear weight on it (two days). Had to use prescription pain killers for two weeks. I've noticed my knee seems to be popping at times and when not wrapped for a few hours (at night) it feels heavy if I go to stand up to go to the restroom. There are also random muscle twitches associated with it. Anyone else experienced these symptoms with a knee sprain?

2 years ago I bought "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay and noticed that the sound was heavenly! We are not together, he only sees him in the summer time. At a family gathering he allowed my son to drink a beer just this week. Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and grandparents did nothing about it.
