How come NOM's poll shows 57% of New Yorkers opposed to gay marriage.........?

This sort of nonsense is generally referred to as "poll-pushing"- when biased or inaccurate data is presented as a poll in an attempt to give it an air of legitimacy. The response to a poll depends very much on who you ask.
