I had surgery and my boyfriend wont help around the house?

I just had knee surgery(three days ago), and am on crutches and painkillers. My boyfriend will not help around the house. We live together and have a three year old daughter together. This is getting to the point where I am doing the dishes leaning against the counter because he is leaving the place a mess. What do I do?
